My name is Benson Sung, and today, I will be sharing with you the eight core marketing analytics that you must know to increase your website traffic and build a successful business online.
I’m going to give you the exact PAS Matrix and frameworks that I use when I want to understand the core numbers that it takes to increase website traffic online to build a successful business. Don’t be overwhelmed by the numbers.
I’m going to be sharing with clarity, certainty, and direction, so you know the exact core numbers that you need to know to be successful.
The key to increasing your traffic online and building a successful business is knowing the core metrics.
Let’s look at is the PAS Matrix I designed so that I can gain clarity on the numbers and not be overwhelmed myself.
Core Marketing Analytics #1: Why
We always want to understand the why of our traffic sources. Why is one performing well? Why isn’t one performing well?
Core Marketing Analytics #2: Who
The second factor we want to identify is who. What is the individual audience segments that the traffic source is coming from? What are the audiences that we’re targeting through organic traffic and also from the referral traffic, and at the same time, the digital advertising traffic on different social platforms?
Core Marketing Analytics #3: Churn
The third factor that we want to identify churn. How often do the people from this source of traffic bounce off a website and also drop off at certain times? We want to make sure we’re getting quality traffic.
Core Marketing Analytics #4: Conversion
The next thing we want to look at is how much of that traffic converts into leads. Focus on looking at the traffic source, when it goes on our site, how many of those convert to traffic?
Core Marketing Analytics #5: Milestone ROI
After that, we want to look at the milestone ROI. How deep are they going on to your website?
Core Marketing Analytics #6: Sequence
The next thing is the sequence. What do they buy in what order? We want to identify this so that we can narrow down and craft the right direction, the right sequence, of pages that they’re going to see on our website.
Core Marketing Analytics #7: When
The next thing is we want to understand when. When do they go on the site at what times? This is important to see your audience’s view rate at different dates and different times. We can identify these numbers through Google Analytics.
Core Marketing Analytics #8: Cost
The final thing is if we’re using digital advertising, even if we’re doing referral traffic, getting a complementary website to promote traffic to our website, we want to understand how much this cost. How much is the traffic source costing, and is it worth it for us?
Now that we’ve established the 8 core marketing analytics you need to focus on, I want to go over core metrics.
The first core metric we want to focus on, if we want to be able to build effective traffic to your website, is looking at the new or returning visitors.
The next core metric that we want to see is how much time they spend when they land on your website.
The next thing that we want to identify is the sequence of pages between new visitors and returning visitors. When someone goes to your site, we want to make sure they just don’t just land on the home page and leave.
At the same time, we want to identify is how many people out of a hundred, when they land on a specific page, how many people leave as soon as the land on that page within the first 10 to 15 seconds?
One of the core factors that we want to focus on to increase the website traffic is understanding the sources of traffic that are landing on your website?
The next one is a referral traffic, where are people coming from to your site.
